Unusual 19th Century Japanese Miniature Cabinet.

Description

Here we have one of the most unusual pieces of miniature furniture I have seen for some time. A small 19th century Japanese walnut / tropical wood cabinet with four drawers and sliding glass doors.

The five drawers are mitred together and all have a beautiful round inlay with small turned ebony knobs with ivory disk inlay. The two sliding glass doors although seemingly unusual look to me to be original to the piece as there is absolutely no way of getting them out unless you dismantled the whole piece which has obviously not happened.

The whole piece is a wonderful colour with a super patination only achieved with years of waxing.
