As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this superb quality Japanese ivory okimono of a street seller ,sat legs crossed upon his mat and beside his basket of wares this jovial chap has chopsticks in hand and is just ready to tuck into some of his wares .

The trader is carved in superb detail from one piece of ivory with the exception of his pegged basket , he has a two character red seal inset into the base and is in quite magnificent condition , we recently acquired him from along with his two companions to follow from a private collection in Sussex .

He is the best condition of the group and is lovely and original with only a tiny hairline across his forehead .
