Description

As part of our oriental collection we are pleased to be able to offer this fine quality 19th c signed Japanese boxwood netsuke together with the bonus of another ivory netsuke (will split )

The signed boxwood netsuke depicts a shi shi dog with his front paw resting on a pierced ball with another ball carved within , the detail is fabulous , he is very tactile and nicely signed on the underside.condition gorgeous with only a minute stable crack to base.

Circa 1870 priced individually at £485

ThE later ivory netsuke depicts a nicely detailed bitch with her puppy playing upon her back , good condition with minor stable hairline age cracks and a nice honey coloured patina beneath.

Circa 1900 priced individually NOW SOLD
