Superb Quality 19th Century Brass Boulle Casket

Description

We are delighted to offer this most superb quality 19th century brass boulle work casket , probably Italian or north european , the intricate brass boulle work is finely detailed and stands out superbly against the dark background , the strap work escutchion and strap hinges further compliment the ornate detailing , all stood on a brass beaded frieze supported by solid turned pillasters, the inside is nicely lined in a red studded crushed velvet type material , comes with a working but slightly temperamental key .

The condition is superb for its age and use with the tiniest sign of old solder on rear lid (see photo 11)but that is being really picky , it is gorgeous!!
