Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this fabulous late Meiji early 20thc boxwood netsuke of a segmented fruit which is being climbed and chewed on the outside by one rodent whilst his mate has obviously gnawed himself a hole from where he perches , he very cleverly rotates and moves in and out without coming loose completely

The condition is great , there is an old stable age crack to one of the stalks (not broken or glued), the colour is lovely where it has been handled it has picked up a nice patina , it is signed faintly on the rear section .
