Large Pair of 19th Century Chinese Stone Seals

Description

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this superb large pair of stone desk seals from the 19th century , these imposing heavy seals are carved on four sided stone columns highly decorated and chased throughout , surmounted by a great pair of "dogs of foe" or shi shi dogs each holding a pierced ball and playing with their young pups ,the quality of the carving on such a hard stone is simply superb and the condition is quite perfect !!

Approximate sizes

Height 8.25" 21cm

Width 3" 7.5cm square

Weight is a hefty 2078gms each over 2kg !
