This William IV centre table originates from the 1800 period, constructed from warm brown rosewood with visible grain patterns. The rectangular top has rounded corners, positioned over cedar-lined end drawers. Two heavy turned column supports rise from cross-platform sledge feet, finished with small bun feet at the corners and hidden castors underneath. Simple linear mouldings run along the frieze beneath the top edge, and the polished timber shows minor surface scuffs consistent with age and use. Standing 72.3901 cm high, 91.4402 cm wide, and 55.8801 cm deep, the table provides a substantial platform surface. Position this piece centrally within a drawing room or study as a functional display table, or place it against a living room wall where the end drawers remain accessible for storing smaller items. The classic proportions and turned supports complement traditional interiors, while the compact footprint suits smaller spaces alongside larger seating arrangements.

William IV period furniture, produced from roughly 1830 to 1837, bridges the Regency and Victorian eras, noted for robust turned columns, dark hardwoods, and balanced proportions.

These tables were built with solid hardwood frames veneered in figured rosewood, featuring hand-carved turned supports and hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers.

Authentic pieces feature turned pedestal or end supports, heavy sledge bases, concealed hand-cut joinery, and natural oxidisation on unpolished timber undersides.

A centre table can be positioned in an entryway foyer, placed behind a contemporary sofa, or set along a hallway wall as a decorative feature surface.

Dust the wooden surface regularly with a dry lint-free cloth and apply natural beeswax sparingly to preserve the timber finish.
