Description**
This beautifully proportioned Edwardian console table draws inspiration from the elegant neoclassical furniture of the Georgian and French Louis XVI periods.
The semi-circular marble top features attractive brown, grey and white veining, complemented by contrasting golden-toned edging.
Beneath, the finely carved curved frieze is ornamented with elaborate gilt scrolling foliage and classical decorative motifs against a soft ivory-coloured ground.
The table stands upon four elegant tapering circular legs, beautifully decorated with vertical fluting, gilt foliate capitals and fine beaded mouldings.
The combination of rich gilding, pale painted decoration and beautifully figured marble creates a particularly sophisticated decorative appearance.
A highly attractive and practical console table, ideal for a hallway, formal entrance, drawing room or elegant contemporary interior.
