Grand Tour furniture from the nineteenth century was crafted as high-end souvenirs or export pieces inspired by Classical and Renaissance Italian design, often featuring decorative marquetry, ebonised timber, and bone or ivory inlay.

These tables are traditionally constructed using a hardwood base, such as walnut or fruitwood, combined with ebonised wooden accents and etched bone inlays depicting foliate motifs or classical scenes.

Authentic nineteenth-century bone inlay shows slight variations in grain, subtle natural discolouration, hand-engraved detailing filled with dark pigment, and hand-cut joinery consistent with historical craftsmanship.

An antique corner table can be used to utilise unused alcoves, entryways, or library corners, providing a focal point when paired with understated modern lighting or minimal ceramic accessories.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, avoid direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber cracking, and preserve the finish using a clear beeswax sparingly on the wooden surfaces.
