Impressed crown and BFB mark, printed Flight, Barr and Barr mark referring to Coventry Street address
William Billingsley travelled to Worcester from Wales in 1808 and remained there until November 1813, around the time of the change in the partnership from Barr, Flight and Barr to Flight, Barr and Barr. He initially worked as a flower painter and a small number of finely decorated services are a tribute to his genius.

Literature: Pieces from a similar service are illustrated by John Sandon, The Dictionary of Worcester Porcelain (1993), colour plate 9. These pieces are from an exceptional service painted by Billingsley with single flowers. A pair of dishes from the same service are in the Museum of Worcester Porcelain.
