FAQs

Damascus inlaid furniture is characterised by detailed micro-mosaic craftsmanship, incorporating hardwoods, mother-of-pearl, bone, and pewter arranged in geometric and star-shaped Islamic patterns.

Craftsmen typically utilised walnut or fruitwood as the primary structure, decorated with hand-cut mother-of-pearl, camel bone, and contrasting dark and light timber tesserae applied in parquetry.

Authentic period pieces exhibit hand-cut joinery, subtle natural variation in the inlaid materials, and hand-fitted mother-of-pearl fragments set directly into solid wood frames.

Position the table as an accent piece in a hallway, library, or living room alcove, combining its dense surface decoration with minimalist wall art or contemporary seating.

Maintain the item in a stable climate away from direct sunlight and radiators to prevent timber movement, dusting gently with a dry microfibre cloth without chemical cleansers.
