Victorian majolica is a type of earthenware ceramics introduced by Minton at the Great Exhibition of 1851, characterised by bright, translucent lead glazes fired over relief-moulded clay body designs.

These seats were produced using pressed or cast earthenware clay formed in plaster moulds, finished with metal-oxide glazes, and fired at high temperatures to achieve durable colours and weather resistance.

Authentic Minton majolica often features impressed manufacturer marks on the base, such as the word MINTON, along with year-code cyphers and shape numbers stamped directly into the earthenware body.

A majolica stool functions effectively as a vibrant accent side table alongside living room seating, an elevated plant stand in a sunroom, or a moisture-resistant functional element in a bathroom.

Maintain glazed earthenware by dusting with a soft cloth and wiping with warm water and mild liquid soap; avoid abrasive chemicals, sudden thermal shock, and exposure to outdoor freezing temperatures.
