Wiltshire Made Double Cheese Press

Description

In good order for age & use a rare West Country double Cheese Press forged & cast by the Warminster firm of Carson & Toone. Standing on a shaped elm plateau base, raised on four legs is the fabulous cast iron & forged steel double press which originally was sold to a cheese making farm in Dorset, making at that time cheese for local villages & towns in Dorset & Wiltshire.

A superb & architecturally interesting item with potential for a variety of practical or designer uses.

Last used for its original purpose within living memory, this item is available with its lead shaped truckle drainage pans having drip spout fronts or they can be lifted off leaving the plateau elm surface.

Exactly as shown in the photographs, viewing by prior appointment is welcome.

Delivery can be arranged at cost to UK mainland only. Elm plateau height is 39 cm.
