An imposing set of  first half of the 18th Century French wall carvings with original gilding.

Magnificent scrolling details… from a chateau in Brittany.

The gilding quite dirty in places, could be carefully washed and would come back as bright as the rest of the carving. Some small losses as seen but nothing major. They are in lovely condition for their grand age.

Priced for the set of 3. Please do message me if you are interested in purchasing any of them separately.

Of an imposing size, the pair measures in width 130cm (over 51 inches) and 50cm in height (20 inches)

The shorter fragment is 67cm (26.4”) with same height of 50cm (20”)

This set of three 18th-century French Rococo architectural fragments comprises two larger wall carvings and one shorter piece made from timber, gesso, and gold giltwood. The original gold gilding displays surface dirt in places and small losses along the edges. Each decorative piece features a central mascaron face, elaborate scrolling acanthus leaves, and an upper cresting pediment. The larger pair measures 130 cm in width by 50 cm in height, while the shorter fragment is 67 cm in width by 50 cm in height. Suitable for period interiors, these wall elements work well hung directly onto a panelled or painted wall above a sideboard in a dining room, or positioned above a mantelpiece in a drawing room.
