Description

Chinese porcelain gilt metal mounted pot, c. 1700, Kangxi Period. The baluster shaped pot, hand painted in underglaze blue, with a continuous band of Buddhistic emblems, between lappets, painted with stylised floral scroll.

Having an angular hand, painted with flowerheads.

Mounted in Europe, with a hinged gilt metal cover, chased with flowers and scrolls, within a crimped edge.

Height – 12.5 cm, 4 7/8”.

Width – 10 cm, 3 7/8”.

Condition – Short hairline crack to rim, firing crack to base of the handle, at the junction of the body, but not broken – please see images for detail. No restoration.
