Description

This Georgian knitting sheath has several attributes. It firstly has an open lantern and ball. It has a date 1823, initials MH. 

It is decorated with hearts, and interestingly with what looks like a sock. This may have been what the owner was knitting with the sheath - socks. There is also some lovely chip carved decoration on each side.

The knitting sheath measures 25cm l.
