Antique Oak and Silver Plated Champagne or Wine Cooler

Description

This is a rare antique silver plated and oak champagne or wine cooler. The oak panels are attached with silver plated bands. There are four of these bands. The top one has two looped handles attached. There is an original removable tin liner for inserting the bottle and ice. c1880 British made with a makers mark for Thomas Harwood & Sons of Birmingham stamped on the lower band. This is sold in original used condition with little wear. Wine is not included.

This Edwardian wine cooler takes the form of a coopered oak bucket constructed from vertical wooden staves in a warm brown colour. Four polished silver-plated bands encircle the body, secured with small visible rivets, while the uppermost band supports two upright loop handles.
