Regency Satinwood & Polychrome Painted Side Table

Description

This late Victorian Satinwood and polychrome painted side table is an outstanding piece in the late Regency tsste in absolutely beautiful condition. The table dates from the late 19th century circa 1890 and is beautifully decorated throughout with stunning hand painted detailing. The crossbanded boxwood and ebony-strung top surround a decorative panel depicting an allegorical scene of putti surrounded by trailing foliage The table is on square tapering legs with spade feet joined by a stretcher which is similarly decorated with trailing flowers and damson plums.

This piece has a most wonderful colour throughout with a beautiful golden warmth and a fine patina.

The table measures 69cm by 38.5cm by 72cm

Provenance: with original purchase receipt for Church Street Antiques, Cheshire, dated 21.1.2011

Rams Head Antiques is a family business based in Wolsingham in Weardale where we have had shop premises for 28 years. The shop is generally open every Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm.
