The composition is framed by fine line inlay and contrasting crossbanding, with a removable shaped glass protector preserving the decorative surface while allowing the painting to remain fully visible.
Below, the shaped frieze incorporates a useful central drawer, ornamented with a decorative gilt-bronze mount. Further finely cast mounts descend from the shoulders of the four elegant cabriole legs, which terminate in small gilt-bronze sabots.
The table has the refined proportions and decorative richness associated with late nineteenth-century French furniture inspired by the courtly interiors of the Louis XV period. Its combination of painted decoration, warm timber tones, metal mounts and sculptural profile makes it particularly suitable as a centre table, occasional table or statement piece within both classical and contemporary interiors.
