Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Karl Ens porcelain factory was established in Volkstedt, Thuringia, in 1894 and gained renown for producing naturalistic bird sculptures. Throughout the twentieth century, the manufactory specialized in high-quality glazed porcelain figurines depicting tropical and European avian species.

These figurines are moulded from hard-paste porcelain, painted using underglaze ceramic pigments, and coated with a high-gloss clear glaze before being fired at high temperatures to achieve a smooth, durable finish.

Authentic pieces typically bear the stamped or hand-painted Karl Ens factory mark on the unglazed base, often featuring a windmill logo, along with impressed four-digit model numbers denoting the specific avian design.

Display pairs together on a bookshelf, mantelpiece, or sideboard top to act as naturalistic accents, surrounding them with books, framed art, or botanical elements to complement their organic forms.

Dust regularly using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or a soft-bristled brush to clean intricate feather details; avoid submerging pieces with unglazed bases in water or using abrasive chemical cleansers.
