Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Quartetto tables are a set of four graduated nesting tables designed to fit neatly underneath one another when not in use. Popularised in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, they offer versatile, space-saving surface solutions for entertaining and daily living.

Traditional nesting tables from the Georgian and Edwardian eras feature solid mahogany or rosewood frames, often decorated with satinwood crossbanding or boxwood stringing. The slender legs typically incorporate wooden runner tracks on the undersides of the aprons to allow smooth sliding.

Authentic antique sets display age-appropriate wear, hand-cut dovetails or mortise and tenon joinery, natural timber shrinkage along table tops, and original wooden runner grooves beneath each top. Modern reproductions frequently utilise synthetic lacquers or uniform manufactured timber bases.

Position the nested set alongside an armchair or sofa as a compact side table, or pull individual tables apart during social gatherings to create distributed drink rests. Their lightweight form and warm wood tones pair easily with contemporary upholstered seating and clean-lined decor.

Dust surfaces regularly with a dry, soft microfibre cloth and apply high-grade beeswax polish once or twice a year, wiping along the wood grain. Avoid positioning the tables in direct sunlight or near radiator heat sources to prevent warping, veneer lifting, or wood fading.
