Description

A rare survival from the 17thc, is this well made sycamore spice grinder, made in two parts...it has gained a superb colour and has managed to survive without too much damage....I particularly like the deep ring turn decoration and the pleasing shape...., it is in full working order...and still has traces of the metal plate (mostly worn away) that would have been inside the grinder at the base....so nice to find a really early piece of treen from the 17thc with minimum damage....unusual for a domestic item, that has been well used..!
