Description:
This fine quality antique English extending Victorian dining table showcases solid mahogany construction, and it still retains its original winding mechanism and single leaf, so it comfortably seats six people in excellent original condition.
Furthermore, the extending antique dining table benefits from a solid mahogany top with a stunning rich colour and patination, complete with a moulded edge above a skirt frieze. When you incorporate the single leaf, the antique mahogany dining table seats six by extending to 5ft 11¼" (181cm) — approximately 6ft — or reduces to 4ft 5½" (136cm) with the leaf removed. Four mahogany turned tapering legs raise the antique Victorian table, and fine fluting decorates each leg before it terminates in the original solid brass castor cups and mug castors with porcelain wheels.

This fine quality antique English Victorian dining table survives in excellent original condition, and it still retains its original winding mechanism plus a single leaf, so it comfortably seats six people. As previously noted, "Selbat Dining Tables" crafted this piece, and their original makers' label remains clearly visible on the underside of the table frame, confirming its provenance. Both the original winding mechanism and its runners work in excellent original condition, and the makers built them to a very high standard. The table also retains its original winding handle. Admittedly, nominal old use marks appear on the leading edges, but these are nothing significant, given the age of the item. The Victorian dining table includes its original single mahogany leaf, and it stands on its original legs and brass castors. In summary, this antique dining table boasts excellent workmanship throughout, remains solid in joint, and stands ready to use.
