A 19th‑century fire‑resisting safe in deep black paint with brass fittings, including a plaque for James Bruce, Agent, 36 West Nile Street, Glasgow, and a circular escutcheon marked Wrought Iron Fire Resisting Safe.

The interior is tidy and practical, with a main compartment and a lower lockable drawer retaining its original brass pull. The main door key is present and working; the drawer key is missing.
