Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency style coffee tables and low tables draw inspiration from early nineteenth-century classical furniture designs. They feature balanced proportions, turned central pedestals, splayed legs, decorative wood inlays, and polished brass hardware such as castors or toe caps.

These tables are primarily constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, often enhanced with satinwood or rosewood crossbanded inlays. The metal fittings, including wheel castors and corner caps, are typically cast in solid brass.

Look at the underside of the table top and base construction to identify traditional joinery, hand-turned pedestal shafts, and natural patination on the brass castors. Quality pieces also feature precision veneering, such as stringing or crossbanded borders along the rim.

A rich mahogany coffee table creates an anchor in a living area when positioned in front of neutral upholstered sofas. Pair it with minimalist ceramic trays, art books, or contemporary glassware to bridge traditional woodwork with modern interior schemes.

Dust the wooden surface regularly with a soft, dry cloth and apply a quality beeswax polish periodically to maintain the timber finish. Keep the table away from direct heat sources and strong sunlight, and clear oxidisation from brass fittings using a non-abrasive metal cleaner.
