A characterful carved fruitwood side table, the rectangular top carved with dense foliate and geometric design within a bordered field, above a continuous carved apron and raised on bobbin-turned legs with carved block details and bun feet.A later hand-written label to the underside records a local attribution linking the table to Locking Manor in Somerset and to Miss Gimingham, who lived in the house in the late Victorian era. Miss Gimingham is documented as having run wood-carving workshops at the manor around the turn of the 20th century.
