A magnificent mid Victorian walnut library table, dating from circa 1850–1870, of impressive proportions and fine quality.
This exceptional large circular table measures 64 inches (163 cm) in diameter and features a beautifully figured walnut veneered top with its original inset leather writing surface, finished with a delicate gilt-tooled border. The leather has acquired a wonderful aged patina, reflecting decades of use and adding considerable character.
The table is raised on a substantial turned walnut pedestal with four elegant swept supports and decorative feet, combining strength with the refined elegance typical of mid Victorian furniture design.
A highly decorative and practical piece, ideal as a library table, centre table, writing table, or statement piece for a traditional home, period property, or sophisticated interior.
The quality walnut, generous scale, and original leather top make this a particularly desirable example of Victorian craftsmanship.
