An exceptional and fine late 18th century Sheraton period Pembroke table in satinwood, the shaped and moulded top with pale, wavy book matched veneers with an incredibly intricate and large central paterae above a single frieze drawer, the whole raise on four square tapering legs terminating in original brass castors. This is a truly exceptional table, clearly made by a highly accomplished maker who took the time to select the very best veneers and specimen woods to create a truly unique example of its type. This would have been made commissioned for a fine 18th century house and would have brought a real sense of style and flamboyance to the interior that it was made for. England. C.1785
