Large Blue Speckled Quart Tavern Mug

Description

A late Victorian quart capacity mug of plain, straight-sided form, with blue speckled body and shaped, white handle.

The body with stencilled mark - Quart above a crown, VR 1900 and 32.

No chips or cracks, glaze crazing to the base and minor glaze loss to the handle. Circa 1900.

The number 32 was the official stamp number for the Cardiff weights and measures authority.
