A fine mid-18th century George II mahogany concertina action card table, circa 1750. The well-figured folding top opens to reveal a baize-lined playing surface with shaped corners and integrated dished recesses for counters and coins.
The table is fitted with a useful drawer to the frieze and retains its original concertina-action mechanism, allowing the rear leg to swing out smoothly to support the open top. The shaped top with rounded corners is both elegant and practical, offering generous playing space.
Raised on well-proportioned cabriole legs terminating in pad feet, the table displays good colour and patina throughout, with attractive wear consistent with age and use.
A classic and highly functional example of Georgian craftsmanship, equally suited as a games table or occasional table.
