Early Stone Bowl and Grinder.

Pre 16th century
Description

A very early stone bowl hewn from stone with primitive decorative bands to the top and a roughly fashioned spout, complete with a stone grinder which has worn smooth.

Similar bowls are discussed in The Archeology and Prehistoric annals of Scotland, written by Daniel Wilson in 1851 which at the time were considered to be ritualistic. Similar examples have also been found in Wales.

British or Romano British, probably iron age

height 12cm ( 4 3/4” )

Width 20cm ( 8” )
