The top is finely inlaid with delicate line work and opens to reveal a baize lined playing surface, a feature typical of better quality mid 19th century examples.The shaped serpentine front is adorned with decorative ormolu mounts adding a refined contrast against the warmth of the walnut. The table stands on elegantly turned and carved legs with unusual original porcelain castors, a particularly nice detail rarely found intact and a strong sign of originality.The interior retains its original configuration, designed for card playing and social games.
