A fine antique English mahogany fold-over table dating from the Regency period, designed to function both as a console table and a traditional card table.The rectangular top with rounded corners displays beautifully figured mahogany veneers with crossbanded decoration and elegant brass line inlay forming a decorative border. When closed the table sits neatly against a wall as a console, while the top folds open to create a larger playing or occasional table surface.The frieze features a central panel with decorative brass inlay framed by carved bead moulding, a refined classical detail typical of Regency furniture.
