FAQs

Regency era porcelain teapots reflect a period of high craftsmanship in English ceramics, heavily influenced by Chinese export patterns and evolving domestic tea drinking habits.

These pieces were typically made from fine bone china or soft-paste porcelain, featuring hand-applied polychrome enamels and extensive hand-gilding.

Authenticity is determined by evaluating the paste quality, glaze characteristics, hand-painted pattern precision, and any factory marks or pattern numbers impressed on the base.

An antique teapot can be displayed on a sideboard top or within a glass-fronted cabinet to add historical depth and colour to a modern living space.

Preservation requires gentle hand washing with mild soap when necessary, avoiding abrasive cleaners, and keeping the piece out of direct sunlight to protect the enamel colours and gilding.
