Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Royal Worcester pieces designed by James Hadley during the late nineteenth century are characterised by naturalistic modelling, pastoral figures, and rustic natural elements such as tree branches. These designs frequently feature soft matte blush ivory grounds combined with subtle polychrome painted highlights.

These items were manufactured using fine soft-paste or hard-paste porcelain, slip-cast in detailed moulds, and finished with delicate hand-painted enamel glazes. Gilded accents were often applied to the candle nozzles and rims before final firing.

Authentic items feature printed or impressed factory marks on the underside, often accompanied by date codes consisting of dots, letters, or numbers. Modellers such as James Hadley frequently had their signatures or initials impressed directly into the porcelain base.

Place the pair symmetrically on a fireplace mantelpiece, sideboard top, or console table to create a focal point. Contrast the organic sculpted forms against minimalist contemporary backdrops or framed modern artwork to balance the traditional aesthetic.

Dust regularly using a soft, dry microfibre brush or feather duster. Avoid submerging porcelain pieces in water or using abrasive chemical detergents, as moisture can penetrate hairline fractures and damage gilding or cold-painted embellishments.
