Peter Harris Clocks & Militaria has dated this Antique Horn Powder Flask to the 19th Century.
The natural cow horn body of pleasing translucent tone is mounted with a calibrated volumetric charger engraved with dram graduations (including 2½, 3 and 3½), complete with spring-indexed rotating collar and tear-drop operating lever.

The brass retains an honest mellow patina with light surface wear consistent with age and use. The horn shows expected shrinkage to the collar and minor surface marks but no visible cracks. Presented on a brass display stand which is likely a later addition and not original to the flask.

A well-made and mechanically complete example of this desirable mid-19th century sporting form.
Condition Report:
Mechanism appears complete and moves correctly. General surface wear and age spotting to brass. Horn with typical age shrinkage at mount and light handling marks. Later stand.
