Description

A handsome jointed solid wood stringed puppet, probably from the Syrian region. This male puppet is quite large and heavy and has a solid wooden jointed body, with large, individually jointed fingered hands. Dressed in its’ original clothing of the region, with high waisted trousers, sequined waistcoat and beautifully embroidered and sequin adorned apron, all in wonderful vibrant contrasting colours. This distinguished gentleman has the original paint to his lifelike, nicely carved solid head and proudly stands on his own velvet covered solid wood base and back pole. An imposing and highly decorative piece that will get you and your friends talking!

Condition report:

Very original and complete. Clothes are in poor condition. Some strings remain
