FAQs

A demi-lune games table features a half-moon shape with a hinged top that unfolds to reveal a playing surface, popular during the Georgian and Regency periods for card games.

These pieces typically utilized dense hardwoods like satinwood or mahogany, often enhanced with hand-painted floral motifs, swags, and delicate veneer work.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetail joints, traditional hide glue, natural ageing of the timber grain, and hand-painted details rather than modern printed transfers.

Placed against a neutral wall in a hallway or living room, the striking curved silhouette and painted surface serve as a sophisticated focal point.

Keep the wood away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent fading and veneer cracking, applying occasional specialist wax to nourish the finish.
