A charming pair of antique German porcelain sweetmeat figures depicting children as harvest gatherers, attributed to Volkstedt, Thuringia, circa 1880. Each figure supports a small sweetmeat bowl formed as a stylised tree stump with applied foliage and fruit. The dense, high-fired porcelain is fully hand painted in soft polychrome enamels. The underside bears an underglaze factory mark consistent with Volkstedt production of this period.
