London City Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.

The tall, fluted column is richly embellished with cascading ribbon and husk carvings before descending into a deeply sculpted baluster section. The tripod base features bold cabriole legs terminating in wonderfully detailed claw feet, each carved with superb definition and refinement.

The mahogany is of outstanding quality, displaying a rich, even patina that highlights the crispness of the carving. Elegant, sculptural and highly decorative, this torchère makes a striking statement in any room—perfect for displaying a sculpture, bust, floral arrangement or fine decorative object.
