This antique Santos crown which dates from the 19th century comes from France, is made of gilded metal and is nicely decorated with colourful glass stones.This beautiful piece has a cross and orb to the top of the crown with arms running from the centre top to the bottom band which all have pink, blue and white glass stones set onto them.This would have sat on the head of a Santos or saint figure in a French church.Santos figures were used in religious ceremonies and parades across the continent.This highly decorative crown which has a wonderful look would make an ideal addition to a religious collection.Dimensions: Diameter at widest part: 12.5 cm (5'').
