Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

The Arts and Crafts movement emphasised honest construction, traditional craftsmanship, and the use of natural materials, reacting against mass production by celebrating visible joinery and simple forms.

Pieces from this era typically employed solid native and imported hardwoods like walnut and oak, utilising traditional mortise and tenon joints with hand-finished surfaces.

Authenticity is identified through hand-cut joinery, appropriate tool marks, natural timber ageing, traditional hardware, and construction methods consistent with early twentieth-century workshop practices.

Pairing a handcrafted wooden table with contrasting modern minimalist seating creates a balanced aesthetic that highlights the natural grain and historical character of the timber.

Maintain walnut surfaces by dusting with a soft dry cloth, avoiding direct sunlight and excessive humidity fluctuations, and periodically applying quality beeswax to nourish the wood.
