A magnificent pair of Napoleon III Rouge du Languedoc marble and gilt bronze mounted urns in the Empire style. The beaded gilt rims above campana shaped vases decorated with a frieze of dancing maidens and vine leaves, above a pair of handles with reeded acanthus leaf decorated collar and fluted socle. The square stepped bases decorated with alternating harp & laurel wreath motifs, standing on turned reeded feet.
Two pairs, near identical, can be seen in the collection of the Royal Pavilion, Brighton.
