A process pioneered by the Scottish gem engraver and modeller James Tassie in the late 18th century
The lady wears a mob cap and scarf with curls emerging front and top, with lace collar,

an older lady of humor and intelligence

Papier mache frame with brass mounts, surface wear and crazing to the black
Domed oval glass
Frame 135mm x 108mm, weight 143 grams
All in very good condition.
