Description

A stylish and extremely well made Art Deco nesting coffee table in walnut. This was made in England, it dates from the 1930’s.

The quality is outstanding, this has a gorgeous design and is very practical. The four smaller pie shaped tables nest beautifully under the larger circular table. One of the smaller tables has a lovely hidden feature, the top edge is hinged and it lifts up to reveal hidden inner storage space.

We have had these all stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is immaculate throughout. The grain patterns and colour tones are absolutely gorgeous.

Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Art Deco furniture, emerging in the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by sleek geometric shapes, streamlined forms, and the use of luxurious materials such as burr walnut, chrome, and exotic veneers.

These pieces typically utilised solid secondary timbers like beech or mahogany overlaid with decorative wood veneers, most notably burr walnut, to create striking grain patterns on the surfaces.

Authentic items often feature traditional joinery combined with period-specific veneer work, symmetrical geometric designs, and hardware or construction methods consistent with interwar manufacturing techniques.

Nesting tables offer functional versatility and can be displayed fully stacked as a centrepiece or separated out beside seating areas to provide surface space without cluttering the room.

Maintain walnut furniture by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent veneer lifting or drying, and clean regularly with a soft, dry cloth rather than harsh chemical polishes.
