Chip carved boxwood apple corer, probably Welsh, circa 1770

The fine chip carved triangles and squares neatly define the handle and bolster

This style also utilized on other Welsh love tokens typically spoons

The four pillar cage contains a loose (free carved) spindle

All in excellent condition with no damage or repair, typical shrinkage splits.

Length open 5,5/8" or 142mm, weight 12.6 grams.
