Description:
A good quality rustic English 18th Century Georgian antique farmhouse refectory table, in solid oak, measuring 6ft 1” long, which seats 8 people, boasting a stunning colour and patination, circa 1780, in good original condition.
As this is the original table-top, there is evidence of centuries of historical use and nominal old use marks, which all adds to its character. The table-top can be detached from the base to enable easy access into the house. The antique farmhouse refectory table frame has been constructed in the traditional with 18th century timbers, mortise and tenon joints, and then pegged. The table frame features a simple straight frieze, to all side of the dining table. The antique oak refectory table is raised on block legs, united by a central “H” stretcher, for additional strength. The 18th century refectory table comfortably seats 8 people. The antique refectory table is sufficiently tall enough to fit your legs underneath and is sufficiently wide to accommodate serving dishes in the centre of the table (2ft 8½” deep). The antique oak farmhouse table has been solidly constructed and is of good quality. The antique oak refectory table dismantles into two sections for easy access into the home.

Condition Report:
The table has been cleaned and wax-polished, to a professional standard, in our workshop. As the antique oak refectory table retains its original oak table-top, there is evidence of centuries of historical use and old use marks, which all adds to its character. The oak table-top boasts a fantastic rich brown oak colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The oak kitchen table is solid, with no breaks, damage or loose movements. This antique refectory table is heavy, which is always a sign of good quality.
