Description

This is a first for me.....two late 18thc "Pratt Ware" glazed figures, these delightful primitive figures would have been played with by the young children of the time....and I would think most of these "toys" would certainly have been broken over time and just thrown away, which would explain why I haven't seen any before....they are both decorated in the oxide colours, yellow, orange, green and brown with the attractive blue of the tin glaze coming through....both in excellent unrestored condition...

English. C1780-90. Literature: Pratt Ware 1780-1840 by John & Griselda Lewis, page 258 for three examples of Pratt Ware toys.
