FAQs

Victorian furniture spans the reign of Queen Victoria (18371901), encompassing various revival movements characterised by ornate details, rich dark woods like walnut and mahogany, and robust craftsmanship.

These tables are typically constructed from solid timbers such as mahogany or walnut, frequently featuring decorative veneers like burr walnut combined with intricate marquetry or brass inlay, supported by hand-carved pedestal bases.

Authenticity is indicated by period-appropriate joinery techniques, traditional hand-cut dovetails or screws, natural timber ageing, subtle patination, and wear patterns consistent with nineteenth-century manufacture.

An antique table introduces texture and history to contemporary spaces when paired with minimalist seating or neutral upholstery, creating a balanced, layered aesthetic that highlights its craftsmanship.

Preserve antique wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying traditional beeswax to nourish the finish.
