The stock and forestock is finely inlaid with intricate mother-of-pearl decoration throughout.
The lock plate and furniture show hand-engraved foliate detailing in steel and brass, while the entire stock is richly ornamented with repeating floral and geometric patterns inlaid in white mother-of-pearl, a hallmark of Northern Indian aristocratic arms.
This musket was most likely crafted for a person of status, possibly for ceremonial or presentation purposes, rather than military use. The condition is very good, with nearly all inlay intact and the flintlock action complete & functions.
A fine example of Mughal-period craftsmanship that would enhance any collection of antique arms.

Good overall condition. Mother-of-pearl inlay is largely complete. Minor wear and natural patina to lock and metalwork consistent with age.
